"Life of Pi" is an adaptation of Yann Martel's 2001 novel of the same name. The story follows Piscine Molitor "Pi" Patel, a young boy from Pondicherry, India, who grows up in a zoo owned by his father. The Patel family decides to move to Canada, and they set sail on a ship with some of their animals. However, their journey is cut short when the ship sinks, and Pi finds himself stranded on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker.
