The movie follows a group of self-absorbed actors who are dropped into the jungle to film a war movie. The actors, including Tugg Speedman (Ben Stiller), Kirk Lazarus (Jack Black), and Jeff Portnoy (Brandon T. Jackson), are not exactly the most prepared or skilled individuals to take on a real war zone. Along with their eccentric director, Damien Cockburn (Bill Hader), they get caught up in a real conflict with a group of hostile tribesmen and a drug lord, Les Grossman (Robert Downey Jr.).
