At its core, the Rk Android Tool is a for the Windows operating system. It communicates with a Rockchip-based device via a USB cable when the device is in a special low-level mode, such as "Loader" or "Maskrom" mode. While historically, Rockchip development required two separate tools ( RKBatchTool for complete firmware packages and RKDevelopTool for individual system partitions), the AndroidTool (starting with version V2.7.1 ) combined these capabilities into a single, more powerful application. Today, it's often referred to as the RKDevTool, but its core functionality remains the same.
